Pastors' wives speakers address ministry challengesDALLAS (BP) -- Amid growing awareness of difficulties women often face in ministry, speakers at the 2018 Pastors' Wives Conference reminded the audience they are God's "beloved" amid ministry that can be both "brutal and beautiful."
Calling this week a "momentous convention," Lisa Harper urged ministers' wives to "stand, even when expected to sit, with strong conviction and soft hearts."

Pastors' Conf. encourages, inspires, elects Danny Wood presidentDALLAS (BP) -- With the theme "Fulfill Your Ministry," the Southern Baptist Convention's Pastors' Conference speakers sought to encourage and inspire pastors with their messages on Monday (June 11) -- the second day of the event.

Danny Wood to be SBC Pastors' Conf. nomineeDALLAS (BP) -- Danny Wood, pastor of Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala., will be nominated for president of the Southern Baptist Convention Pastors' Conference, according to an announcement by Texas pastor Gregg Matte.
Matte, pastor of Houston's First Baptist Church, told Baptist Press today (March 7) Wood "has shined with integrity, love and wisdom" through more than 20 years at his current pastorate.
"With the Pastors' Conference and Southern Baptist Convention being in Birmingham for 2019, he is the right choice to lead us in his hometown," said Matte, a former Pastors' Conference president. 2017 SBC Pastors' Conf. issues financial reportPHOENIX (BP) -- In what may be the Southern Baptist Convention Pastors' Conference's first public financial report, 2017 conference president Dave Miller noted expenditures of just over $400,000 for the Phoenix gathering plus an additional $100,000 provided by the Cooperative Program to help pay for meeting space.
