Utah-Idaho Baptists report numeric & financial gainsMERIDIAN, Idaho (BP) -- Key numeric increases -- including church plants and baptisms -- were celebrated by the Utah-Idaho Southern Baptist Convention during their Oct. 20 annual meeting.

Prayer, new partnerships highlight Montana conv.BILLINGS, Mont. (BP) -- Six church plants and a new three-year partnership with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention were among highlights of the Montana Southern Baptist Convention's annual meeting.
The convention, known in-state as Refresh Montana, held its Oct. 5-6 sessions at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Billings, where Paul Jones has been pastor for 28 years.
"Ministry in Montana is challenging on many levels," Executive Director Barrett Duke told the 203 attendees, which included 89 messengers from 52 of the state convention's 135 churches. Puerto Rico churches doing best to help, NAMB catalyst saysPUERTO RICO (BP) -- More than a week after Puerto Rico suffered its greatest natural disaster, the condition of most of the Southern Baptist churches on the island is still unknown, a church planting catalyst on the island told Baptist Press.
But the 12 churches Carlos Rodriguez has been able to contact are doing all they can to help survivors of hurricanes Irma and Maria, he said in a telephone interview Sept. 27. SBC staffers serve on World Changers mission teamNASHVILLE (BP) -- A group of Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee staff members participated in 2017 World Changers youth mission initiatives that combined Gospel conversations with service projects at 712 sites nationwide.
Four members of the Executive Committee (EC) staff participated in the Nashville outreach July 17–21, leading a team of youth from 12 churches in projects across the city. The volunteers were among 8,000 who served in 50 cities in June and July that led to nearly 5,000 Gospel presentations and 281 decisions for Christ, according to LifeWay Christian Resources, which has partnered with World Changers ministry since 2011. Calif. Baptists elect Bill Agee executive directorFRESNO, Calif. (BP) -- Bill Agee has been elected as executive director of the California Southern Baptist Convention Executive Board.
The 64-year-old minister of church planting and revitalization at First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Ga., was elected to the position today (May 11) by the board. His election culminated a yearlong search replacing Fermín A. Whittaker, who retired Feb. 28 after serving 22 years. Agee will begin his new duties June 1. Read More

(BP) -- During their 88th annual meeting, Arizona Southern Baptists celebrated what God is doing in their state, heard how the Cooperative Program undergirds that work and adopted a 2017 budget sending more to Southern Baptist Convention causes.

Wyoming Baptists 'Trusting the Lord'RIVERTON, Wyo. (BP) -- The 33rd annual meeting of the Wyoming Southern Baptist Convention was a time of celebration and shared commitment to the continuation of God's work in Wyoming and around the world, Executive Director Lynn Nikkel told Baptist Press.
With "Trusting the Lord" as its theme, based on Proverbs 3:5, the Nov. 3-4 event at United Baptist Church in Riverton brought together 114 registered messengers from 40 Wyoming churches, out of the state convention's 106 churches and church-type missions. Mont. Southern Baptists 'Refresh' at annual meetingMISSOULA, Mont. (BP) -- Montana Southern Baptist Convention (MTSBC) President Darren Hales described the group's 2016 annual meeting as having the "feel of a missions conference and the impact of a revival service."
Southern Baptist Convention President Steve Gaines spoke during the meeting and "stoked the fire for spiritual renewal through prayer," Hales said. Held at Russian Baptist Church in West Sacramento Oct. 25-26, the gathering featured a number of CSBC and Southern Baptist Convention entities recognizing Fermín A. Whittaker for his service.
