    KANSAS CITY, Mo. (BP) -- Amid a grand celebration of Jason Allen's fifth anniversary as Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary's president, trustees, friends and the seminary community gathered Oct. 16 to mark the occasion and praise God for Allen's accomplishments during that tenure.

    Additionally, trustees approved a campus renovation project and received news of record enrollment, faculty re-elections and promotions.

    Following a full day of trustee work sessions and committee meetings, the institution turned to commemorating the fifth anniversary of Allen, who officially took office on Oct. 15, 2012. Read More

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. (BP) -- Examining and celebrating the unique stewardship God entrusts to those called into Christian ministry, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary held its annual For the Church National Conference, Sept. 25-26 at the Kansas City, Mo., campus.

    Keynote speakers Jason Allen, H.B. Charles Jr., Ray Ortlund Jr., Owen Strachan, Matt Carter, Jared Wilson and Matt Chandler preached messages centering on the conference's theme, "The Minister's Trust," while Aaron Ivey and Austin Stone Community Church's worship team from Austin, Texas, led attendees in praise and worship songs.     PHOENIX (BP) -- Midwestern Seminary hosted "For the Church Phoenix," its third in an annual series of micro-conferences, at the Phoenix Convention Center during the 2017 Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting.

    The event featured leaders from across the SBC presenting on featured topics in a seven-minute TED Talk-like format.

    "Our aim at For the Church Phoenix was to give attendees the very best encouragement and instruction that Midwestern Seminary could possibly provide through these brief presentations," Midwestern president Jason Allen said during the June 13 event. "Existing for the church is what this school stands for, and our desire is that everyone has departed here more edified to carry out their ministries." Read More

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. (BP) -- Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary's academic year concluded in celebratory fashion May 12 as graduates, families and friends gathered for the 61st commencement, launching theologically-trained Gospel ministers into service.

    The seminary's largest-ever graduating class of 135 students received 31 undergraduate, 82 graduate and 19 doctoral degrees and three diplomas from Midwestern Women's Institute. Read More
