    WAKE FOREST, N.C. (BP) -- This year's Reaching the Nations conference brought together more than 500 people in person and via live stream to learn and grow in how to reach refugees and immigrants in North America.

    The Oct. 27-28 event at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C., occurred both as a catalyst and result of "a movement starting in local churches across North America -- a genuine awakening to the amazing opportunity we have to reach the nations next door," according to the conference planning committee.     WAKE FOREST, N.C. (BP) -- As white supremacists are planning anti-immigration rallies for this weekend in Tennessee, Southern Baptist church planters across the United States and local church members have gathered in North Carolina to find ways to welcome and share the Gospel with those from many nations.

    In conjunction with the Reaching the Nations conference this weekend (Oct. 27-28), the Practitioners Collaborative took place Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. Attendees included church planters who are working throughout North America with unreached people groups, some of whom are also leading breakout sessions throughout the Reaching the Nations event.   • Moore, others oppose 'White Lives Matter' rallies in TN

    NASHVILLE (BP) -- Southern Baptist ethicist Russell Moore and other Christian leaders in Tennessee declared their opposition to "White Lives Matter" rallies in the state in a joint statement issued today (Oct. 27).

    Release of the statement -- titled "Gospel opposition to white supremacy" -- came on the eve of rallies sponsored by white nationalists in the Middle Tennessee cities of Murfreesboro and Shelbyville. Those scheduled events prompted Moore, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), and the other signers to say, "[W]e declare ourselves in resolute opposition to this expression of racism and white supremacy. We denounce and repudiate white supremacy as a work of the devil, designed to dehumanize and divide." Read More

    WAKE FOREST, N.C. (BP) -- A diaspora ministry conference inaugurated last year was so successful that organizers have scheduled a second event Oct. 27-28 at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C.
