    SPARTANBURG, S.C. (BP) -- This spring, Alexia Newman will celebrate 30 years as director of Carolina Pregnancy Center in Spartanburg, one of the largest crisis pregnancy care centers in South Carolina.

    When she interviewed for the job in April 1989, she did not even know it was a pro-life ministry. "I had to ask before I would continue. I did not know anything about crisis pregnancies," she said. Since then she has become a seasoned veteran, heading a ministry that saves lives and reaches people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

    CHICAGO (BP) -- Pro-life advocates will hold banners on highway overpasses June 22 proclaiming "abortion takes a human life" to rush-hour motorists in 50 U.S. cities spanning 24 states.

  • 'Cemetery' displays collegians' pro-life stance

    PINEVILLE, La. (BP) -- Nearly 500 flags in a "Cemetery for the Innocent" covered a section of Louisiana College's quad as a memorial to the unborn on March 20.

    Each flag represented five of the lives aborted daily in the U.S.

    WASHINGTON (BP) -- U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy, a purported pro-lifer accused of having asked his ex-mistress to have an abortion, announced Oct. 4 he will not seek re-election when his eighth legislative term ends in January 2018.

    WASHINGTON (BP) -- Lawyers for David Daleiden appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court last week over the ongoing litigation suppressing his undercover videos.

    During the 2014 and 2015 National Abortion Federation (NAF) annual conventions, the 28-year-old pro-life activist filmed undercover videos of Planned Parenthood workers allegedly discussing the illegal fetal tissue trade and late-term abortion procedures.     RICHMOND, Va. (BP) -- At least 676 mothers were swayed from aborting their babies by volunteers on the 40 Days for Life international campaign and its concurrent bus tour that ended Nov. 6, according to the campaign's preliminary tally.

    As the campaign ended Nov. 6, major campaign sponsor Pro-Life Action Ministries (PLAM) of St. Paul, Minn., estimated 676 lives had been saved, based on reports from volunteers who conducted fasts and held prayer vigils outside 367 abortion facilities in 270 U.S. cities and more than 20 foreign countries.
