    BENNINGTON, Vt. (BP) -- "I've never seen anything like that before!" a man with two friends exclaimed. While students from Northeastern Baptist College washed their car, the men watched as Mark Ballard, NEBC's founding president, used an EvangeCube to share the Gospel.

    Using the small cube's pictorial storytelling, Ballard explained Jesus Christ's death, burial and resurrection. As the conversation unfolded, Ballard realized that the man had never heard the Gospel. Read More

  • Baptist college in Vermont looks toward new campus

    BENNINGTON, Vt. (BP) -- Northeastern Baptist College has signed an agreement to purchase a former elementary school campus as its future home in Bennington, Vt., where the college opened four years ago.

    NEBC President Mark Ballard signed the agreement Aug. 1. Several weeks earlier, "the Lord put it on the heart of some of our NEBC friends to give the initial gift commitment of $100,000," he noted in an email announcement. Read More

  • Rare book room dedicated by Vermont Baptist college

    BENNINGTON, Vt. (BP) -- The first book published by the Baptist Sunday School Board and the personal journal of a 19th-century Vermont pastor are among the volumes in a newly dedicated rare books room at Northeastern Baptist College in Bennington, Vt.

    Dedicated May 23, the Michael Alford Rare Books Library Exhibit -- dubbed the MARBLE room -- contains more than 1,000 books at least 100 years old, with the oldest volume published in 1745. The room is named in honor of a retired Schenectady, N.Y., church planter who started congregations across the Northeast. Read More

  • Baptist college gains Vermont accreditation

    BENNINGTON, Vt. (BP) -- Northeastern Baptist College has achieved Vermont accreditation and degree-granting authority in a unanimous vote Sept. 16 by the State Board of Education.

    The college, which opened in the fall of 2013 in Bennington, Vt., now has more than three dozen students, at least 25 of whom are full-time. Read More
