Miss. Baptists allocate CP gifts, elect officersJACKSON, Miss (BP) -- Mississippi Baptist Convention (MBC) messengers elected by acclamation Mark Vincent, senior pastor of Clarke-Venable Baptist Church in Decatur, to a second term as president during the MBC 2018 annual meeting.
Messengers also approved without dissent a 2019 Mississippi Cooperative Program budget of $31,051,526, down 1.1 percent from the 2018 CP budget.
Despite the slight decline, Mississippi Baptists will forward 37.9 percent of CP gifts, $11,799,579, to the Southern Baptist Convention for national and international causes, compared to 37.7 percent of receipts forwarded in 2018. Read More
Miss. Baptists unanimous on 2018 budget of $31.4MJACKSON, Miss. (BP) -- Messengers unanimously approved a 2018 Mississippi Cooperative Program budget of $31,404,110 at the 182nd annual meeting of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at First Baptist Church in Jackson.
The 2018 budget is .08 percent higher than the 2017 budget of $31,378,417. Southern Baptist Convention causes will continue to receive 37.5 percent of the total CP budget.

(BP) -- Messengers from among the 2,200 Mississippi Baptist Convention (MBC) member churches unanimously approved adoption of the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message as the doctrinal guidelines for the convention, during the 181st annual meeting of the convention at First Baptist Church, Jackson, Nov. 1-2.
