Messianics voice concerns, finalize restructureDALLAS (BP) -- The Southern Baptist Messianic Fellowship has expressed concern that a group some SBMF members claim opposes Jewish evangelism was among exhibitors at this year's June 12-13 Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting in Dallas.
During its June 10 annual meeting, the SBMF -- which comprises largely Messianic Jews (Jews who follow Jesus as Messiah) -- also finalized an organizational restructuring plan, heard ministry reports and discussed apparent spiritual warfare surrounding efforts to win Jewish people to faith in Christ.

Messianics to finalize restructuring planDALLAS (BP) -- The Southern Baptist Messianic Fellowship will finalize an organizational restructuring plan, hear reports of Jewish evangelism and potentially discuss electing an executive director when the group gathers in Dallas in conjunction with the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting.
SBMF members and guests will convene Sunday, June 10, at noon for a lunch meeting at TGI Fridays, 1713 North Market St. in Dallas. The business portion of the gathering likely will be brief, SBMF President Ric Worshill said. Read More
Messianics meet with Arabic-speaking believersPHOENIX (BP) -- Arabic praises could be heard alongside the more typical Hebrew worship at the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Messianic Fellowship (SBMF) this year as the fellowship met June 11 at First Arabic Baptist Church in Phoenix.
The gathering -- held in conjunction with the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting -- included a joint worship service of Arab, Kurdish and Jewish followers of Jesus; a fellowship meal; and an SBMF business session.
