    NASHVILLE (BP) -- As football begins to wrap up for the year, sports enthusiasts need not despair. The season for Smocket is right around the corner.

    Smocket (a made-up competition) is featured in "Game On!" -- the 2018 Vacation Bible School theme from LifeWay Christian Resources.

    In January, several thousand children's ministry workers will get an introduction to Smocket and other Game On! content at one of LifeWay's six 2018 VBS previews. Read More

  • LifeWay nears move; Draper Tower set for implosion

    NASHVILLE (BP) -- The new owner of LifeWay Christian Resources' Nashville corporate headquarters has slated demolition of the Draper Tower for early December, just weeks after the entity moves to its new home blocks away.

    Plans to demolish the tower by implosion are scheduled for Dec. 2, followed by the demolition of the Sullivan Tower in early 2018. LifeWay Christian Bookstore on the site has already been torn down.

    AUSTIN, Texas (BP) -- LifeWay Christian Resources has discontinued resources featuring bestselling Bible study author Jen Hatmaker just days after she voiced approval of gay marriage and the gay lifestyle.

    "In a recent interview, [Hatmaker] voiced significant changes in her theology of human sexuality and the meaning and definition of marriage -- changes which contradict LifeWay's doctrinal guidelines," LifeWay told Baptist Press today (Oct. 27).
