  • World Series is latest challenge for pastor's kid

    ATLANTA (BP) -- There's no telling how many hours Scott McHugh and his wife Teresa have spent watching their son Collin play baseball over the years.

    From little leagues, to high school ball in the hot Georgia sun, to his college years at Berry College, to five seasons in the minor leagues, Collin toiled through wins, losses, triumphs and failures -- with his parents never far away.

    Now they're getting to see him on an even bigger stage, as Collin is a pitcher for the Houston Astros playing in his first World Series. With the series moving to Houston tied 1-1, Scott and Teresa will be there if and when Collin makes his World Series debut.

    "It is a joy and delight for us to see him on that stage, all because we've watched him over the years and the process that he has gone through," Scott McHugh said. "It is still surreal to us. It's hard to imagine that your son is playing in the World Series." Read More

    HOUSTON (BP) -- At a critical moment in this year's Major League Baseball playoffs, pursuit of a Houston Astros home run ball at Minute Maid Park caused New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge to crash into a right field sign promoting Houston's First Baptist Church.

    Minutes later, the church tweeted to Judge, a candidate for both the American League Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year awards, "Our church is more welcoming and forgiving than our sign." Read More
