    ANAHEIM, Calif. (BP) -- After promotional materials for the SoCal Harvest crusade were taken down from two Southern California malls because they showed pastor Greg Laurie holding a Bible, Laurie is asking attendees of the event to hold up their Bibles in a show of support for God's Word.

    "Apparently, in our intolerant culture, we no longer can display the Bible in public," Laurie, pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif., wrote in an Aug. 17 op-ed for the Los Angeles Times. "The art in question was a tribute to my hero and mentor, the late Rev. Billy Graham, who often lifted the Bible high over his head as he preached to stadiums full of people. We hold the Bible high, just like Billy did, because it has changed our lives. Read More

  • Crossover again to showcase Harvest America outreach

    DALLAS (BP) -- A year after nearly 3,000 people came to faith in Christ during Crossover efforts in Phoenix, Southern Baptists once again are partnering with Harvest America for an evangelistic crusade the Sunday before the Southern Baptist Convention convenes in Dallas this June.

    The crusade, featuring California pastor Greg Laurie, will start at 6 p.m. June 10 at AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys. A pre-event concert with musicians Chris Tomlin, Switchfoot, Crowder and Phil Wickham will start at 5:30 p.m. Like last year, Harvest America will simulcast the event at locations throughout the country.     PHOENIX (BP) -- Just one day after seeing nearly 3,400 come to Christ at a Harvest America crusade in conjunction with the Southern Baptist Convention 2017 annual meeting, megachurch pastor Greg Laurie announced his official cooperation with the SBC.
