Golden Gate trustees hold last Mill Valley meetingMILL VALLEY, Calif. (BP) -- Meeting for the last time on the Mill Valley campus, Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary trustees approved five new faculty members, heard progress on the seminary's new campuses and prayed for personnel transitioning to Ontario in Southern California and Fremont in the Bay Area.

EC advances Golden Gate Seminary name change to SBCNASHVILLE (BP) -- Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary will become Gateway Seminary of the Southern Baptist Convention if messengers to the next two SBC annual meetings approve a Feb. 17 recommendation of the convention's Executive Committee.
The EC also approved for recommendation to the June 16-17 SBC annual meeting in Columbus, Ohio:
-- a proposed amendment to the North American Mission Board's ministry statement to include planting churches overseas in agreed-upon instances with the International Mission Board (see separate story today).
-- SBC bylaw amendments for the potential use of electronic voting devices in the convention hall and to establish a quorum on all SBC business matters as those present at the time of a vote. Read More
GGBTS announces site of new N. Calif. campus
MILL VALLEY, Calif. (BP) -- Following the relocation of its main campus to Southern California, Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary will retain a presence in the San Francisco Bay area by opening a new campus in Fremont, Calif., on land donated by a local congregation that is moving to a house church ministry model.
The new campus will be situated just north of San Jose about 50 miles southeast of the present Mill Valley campus. Read More
