Crossover again to showcase Harvest America outreachDALLAS (BP) -- A year after nearly 3,000 people came to faith in Christ during Crossover efforts in Phoenix, Southern Baptists once again are partnering with Harvest America for an evangelistic crusade the Sunday before the Southern Baptist Convention convenes in Dallas this June.
The crusade, featuring California pastor Greg Laurie, will start at 6 p.m. June 10 at AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys. A pre-event concert with musicians Chris Tomlin, Switchfoot, Crowder and Phil Wickham will start at 5:30 p.m. Like last year, Harvest America will simulcast the event at locations throughout the country. Crossover St. Louis: Hundreds come to faith in ChristST. LOUIS (BP) -- Southern Baptist volunteers reported more than 350 professions of faith in Jesus Christ during Crossover events throughout metro St. Louis this year.
One man who made a decision for Christ had been considering suicide just a few days earlier, said Eloy Rodriquez. Rodriquez, a longtime Crossover volunteer, serves as Hispanic pastor of Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, Fla.
Rodriquez said his team knocked on the door of the man's house and asked if they could pray with him. The man told the team about a friend who was struggling with cancer. As they were preparing to pray, the man then opened up about his own struggles. Read More
