  • CIA techniques report draws mixed reviews

    WASHINGTON (BP) -- Southern Baptist ethics commentators greeted a new report on interrogation of detainees by the Central Intelligence Agency with mixed reviews, some criticizing the report's approach while others either condemned or supported the government entity's practices.

  • Baptist foundation gives back to CP

    NASHVILLE (BP) -- The Southern Baptist Foundation has given a gift of $44,126.10 to support missions and ministry through the Cooperative Program Allocation Budget.

    Warren Peek, president of the foundation, said the SBF's board of trustees made the decision in their November board meeting to give a portion of the foundation's net profit to Southern Baptist causes. Read More

    NASHVILLE (BP) -- With many in the U.S. expected to give more money to charities this Christmas season, financial experts are advising a biblically based, focused and well-educated approach to charitable giving.
