Erwins unveil next plans, envision 'Christian Pixar'NASHVILLE (BP) -- Filmmaker Jon Erwin says his father often told him to "dream big, dream bold, dream the impossible."
Erwin has followed that advice, and earlier this year many of those dreams came true with his hit faith-based movie "I Can Only Imagine," which grossed $83 million to become the No. 1 movie all time from Roadside Attractions. Pressler sexual abuse claims dismissedHOUSTON (BP) -- A Texas court has dismissed several defendants and multiple counts in a lawsuit alleging sexual abuse by retired Texas state district judge Paul Pressler.
The lawsuit filed by plaintiff Gerald Duane Rollins in October 2017 alleged sexual misconduct by Pressler and also sought to hold several other defendants responsible, including the Southern Baptist Convention. TRUSTEES: MBTS dedicates Mathena Student CenterKANSAS CITY, Mo. (BP) -- Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary celebrated a landmark in its history with the dedication of the new Mathena Student Center in conjunction with the fall trustee meeting Oct. 15-16 at the Kansas City, Mo., campus.

Dakota celebrates Cooperative Program givingSIOUX FALLS, S.D. (BP) -- With "Together We Can Because He Can" as its annual meeting theme, and a Cooperative Program dinner to start things off, messengers to the Dakota Baptist Convention (DBC) voted again to increase Cooperative Program giving next year by 2 percent.
This was in addition to the $25,000 it sent in extra funds to Southern Baptist Convention missions and ministries earlier this year, for the second year in a row, because of increased giving by DBC churches. Read More
No single artist dominated 2018 Dove AwardsNASHVILLE (BP) -- Cory Asbury's "Reckless Love" ballad garnered the worship pastor three wins at the 2018 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, but no single artist dominated the night that recognizes work in 40 categories.
