Georgia Baptists increase budget to $41MSAVANNAH, Ga. (BP) -- Messengers to the 195th Georgia Baptist Convention annual meeting approved an increased Cooperative Program budget of $41,000,000 -- 42 percent of which will be forwarded to Southern Baptist Convention causes.

SBCV celebrates 20 years, 700 churchesROANOKE, Va. (BP) -- The Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia celebrated the 20th anniversary of their convention's founding and eclipsed 700 cooperating churches during their annual meeting Nov. 13-15 at First Baptist Church in Roanoke, Va.

Mission board name adopted by Tenn. conventionSEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (BP) -- Messengers to the Tennessee Baptist Convention's annual meeting approved a new name for the Executive Board during "Summit: The Gathering of Tennessee Baptists," Nov. 13-17 at the Sevierville Convention Center.
Unofficial registration tallied 1,211 registered messengers from 503 churches throughout the state. The numbers do not reflect the total number of people who attended various sessions. N.C. Baptists celebrate missions givingGREENSBORO, N.C.(BP) -- North Carolina Baptists gave more than $32 million dollars to Southern Baptist missions and ministries in the last fiscal year, leading the 42 state conventions in cooperative giving through both the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (more than $14.6 million) and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (more than $6 million).
Messengers to the 2016 Baptist State Convention of North Carolina (BSCNC) annual meeting, Nov. 14-15, voted to approve a budget that increases the percentage of Cooperative Program funds forwarded to the Southern Baptist Convention causes for the 2017 fiscal year to 40.5 percent (or $11,417,637), representing a half-point increase over last year's allotment. The total budget for 2017 comes to $30,375,000, which is up nearly 3 percent over 2016. Read More

Ala. Baptists approve office relocationPELL CITY, Ala. (BP) -- Approving the relocation of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions' office and a flat $40 million Cooperative Program budget for 2017 topped business items addressed by messengers during their state convention annual meeting Nov. 15–16.
