FROM THE SEMINARIES: David Rathel joins Gateway faculty
ONTARIO, Calif. (BP) -- David Rathel has been appointed associate professor of Christian theology at Gateway Seminary of the Southern Baptist Convention.

He has preached in numerous churches and delivered conference papers at the University of Cambridge, the University of St Andrews, the University of Edinburgh, and the Edinburgh Dogmatics Conference. He co-chairs the Evangelicalism in the Long 18th Century Consultation for the Evangelical Theological Society. He also is an associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Rathel is the author of "Baptists and the Emerging Church Movement" (2014) and chapters in "The Miscellanies Companion" (2018) and "Baptists, Gospel, and Culture" (forthcoming). His referred journal articles have appeared in Journal of Reformed Theology and Baptist Quarterly, and he occasionally writes about theology and ministry at www.drathel.com.
"We are so fortunate to have Dr. Rathel as a member of our faculty," said Jeff Iorg, president of Gateway.
"At St. Andrews, he developed a skills-focused curriculum for the first-year theology student," Iorg said, "and we believe his approach will serve Gateway students well in the coming years."
