GuideStone to offer wellness, retirement help

BALTIMORE (BP) — GuideStone Financial Resources will again offer a wellness center during the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Messengers can visit the exhibit hall in Baltimore to take advantage of the wellness center’s services, valued at $150.

Additionally, GuideStone will make available retirement and insurance meetings during the SBC annual meeting and Pastors’ Conference June 9-11.

The wellness screening offers blood-based screenings, so for best results, fast at least the previous 12 hours. Participants will receive a personalized report suitable to take to their family doctors.

Additionally, GuideStone will make available its Retirement Income Solutions seminar along with Compensation Planning for Smaller Churches.

Retirement Income Solutions is designed for participants in GuideStone’s retirement plans who are within five years of their intended retirement date and offers information on GuideStone’s retirement income options. Compensation Planning for Smaller Churches offers insights on how smaller churches can make the most of limited budgets while providing adequately for their pastors’ needs.

Retirement Income Solutions will be offered at two different times: 1-2 p.m. Monday, June 9, and 2-3 p.m., Tuesday, June 10 in Baltimore Convention Center Room 311. Compensation Planning for Smaller Churches will meet from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday in the same room.

GuideStone’s property and casualty again will host Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company experts who will discuss “Doctrines of the Faith.” The meeting — which discusses doing church in a changing culture — includes a free breakfast and will be held in Baltimore Convention Center Room 312.

Pre-registration is recommended for both Retirement Income Solutions and Compensation Planning for Smaller Churches and is required for the Doctrines of the Faith breakfast. Visit www.GuideStone.org/SBC14 after May 1 to register. Participants also can download a health questionnaire on the website and take it to the Wellness Center.

Mission:Dignity materials for Mission:Dignity Sunday can be obtained by visiting the GuideStone booth in the exhibit hall. Mission:Dignity Sunday is June 22 across the Southern Baptist Convention; however, materials are undated to allow churches to highlight Mission:Dignity at a time of the church’s choosing.

For more details on Mission:Dignity, which provides critical financial support for retired Southern Baptist pastors and their widows in critical need, visit www.MissionDignitySBC.org.

While supplies last, pastors who stop by the GuideStone booth also can pick up a free copy of Nelson’s Annual Preacher’s Sourcebook, edited by GuideStone President O.S. Hawkins.
