BIBLE STUDY: Sunday, March 25, 2012

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP) — This weekly Bible study appears in Baptist Press in a partnership with LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention. Through its Leadership and Adult Publishing team, LifeWay publishes Sunday School curriculum and additional resources for all age groups.

This week’s Bible study is adapted from the Explore the Bible curriculum.

Bible Passage: Luke 4:31—6:11

Discussion Question: What are some specific ways you can show acceptance to people who annoy you?

Food for Thought:

We all know someone we consider annoying. She could be that person who hums on the elevator, or he might be that close-talking man who invades your personal space during a conversation. It might be that co-worker who thinks she knows everything yet doesn’t have a clue. It’s quite possible that we’re the ones who others find annoying for any number of reasons.

However, if we are in Christ, we must treat all people as He did. Jesus saw all people the same. Everyone needs the acceptance that He offers. As disciples of Christ, we represent His attitude when we accept all people. So whether you’re in a class with someone who talks or complains incessantly, or you work with someone who texts during meetings, try to see them through the lens of Christ who bore the cross for all of us.

Explore the Bible is an ongoing Bible study curriculum that helps groups dig into the key truths of each Bible book, while keeping the group on pace to study through the entire Bible in eight years. The eight-year plan and more information can be found on the Internet at LifeWay.com/ExploreTheBible.

Other ongoing Bible study options for all ages offered by LifeWay can be found at LifeWay.com/SundaySchool.
