Rick Warren, Richard Land, to be on Fox News Christmas

LAKE FOREST, Calif. (BP)–Fox News is scheduled to broadcast a service from Rick Warren’s Saddleback Valley Community Church multiple times on both Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day.

The service, pre-taped at one of Saddleback’s 13 Christmas services, is scheduled to be broadcast on Christmas Eve at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. EST and Christmas Day at 12 a.m., 6 a.m., 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. EST, according to a news release. The service also is scheduled to be broadcast on the Armed Services Television Network.

In addition, Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, is scheduled to appear on Fox News’ “Special Report with Brit Hume” Christmas Day at 6 p.m. EST to discuss the involvement of evangelicals in environmental causes.

“Christmas is the celebration of an invasion when God came to earth 2,000 years ago, and the world has never been the same since,” Warren said in a statement. “It is a time for celebration — ‘don’t be afraid for I bring you good news of great joy;’ salvation — ‘for unto you is born a Savior;’ and reconciliation — ‘peace on earth, good will toward men.’”

During the broadcast Warren also will talk about the church’s P.E.A.C.E. plan, a strategic effort to tackle global evils in the world.
