BP en Español Newsfeed ready for church websites

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Churches that maintain Internet websites now can have access to Spanish-language news headlines from Baptist Press, the national news service of the Southern Baptist Convention.

The BP en Español Newsfeed now joins the English-language Baptist Press Newsfeed as a resource for churches seeking to reach Hispanic communities.

Both are free services by which churches can place BP news headlines in Spanish and/or English automatically on their websites, without any ongoing maintenance.

The BP en Español Newsfeed is updated weekly and Baptist Press Newsfeed is updated daily, Monday through Friday, to coincide with the BP en Español and Baptist Pres websites, said Will Hall, vice president for convention news with the SBC Executive Committee and BP executive editor.

“When your visitors click on a headline, a new browser window will pop up displaying the story they selected,” Hall said.” And when they close that window, they will be right back on your website.”

Hall said the BP en Español Newsfeed will give Southern Baptists across the country access to all Baptist Press news and feature stories on the BP en Español website.

“I believe this will increase the depth of church website content by adding thorough, well-written Christian news direct from Baptist Press,” Hall said. “And this also will give readers a chance to read all the news from our service.”

Webmasters may download the newsfeed features at http://www.bpnews.net/espanol/bpespanolfeed.asp for BP en Español and http://www.bpnews.net/bpnewsfeed.asp for BPNews. A BPSports newsfeed also is available at http://www.bpsports.net/bpnewsfeed.asp.

Currently, 8,250 websites host BPNews headlines and 1,250 websites host BPSports headlines.

Individuals who want to receive the weekly edition of BP en Español by e-mail may subscribe using the link http://www.bpnews.net/espanol/Subscribe.asp.
