GREENSBORO, N.C. (BP)–Rabbi Sam Nadler, president of Word of Messiah Ministries, and Ed Stetzer, research team director and missiologist at the North American Mission Board, will be the featured speakers at the Southern Baptist Messianic Fellowship’s June 9-11 meeting in Greensboro, N.C.
“To Bear Fruit — Build up the Saints” is the theme of this year’s meeting, which will open with a 7 p.m. Shabbat service in the Pebble Beach Room on level three of the Sheraton Greensboro Hotel at Four Seasons.
Stetzer and Nadler will address the group during the Saturday morning session, and Nadler will speak again in the afternoon. After dinner, the fellowship will hold its annual business meeting at 7:30, also at the Sheraton.
On Sunday, Connie Saffle from Shalom Adonai Messianic Baptist Fellowship in Wichita, Kan., will lead a Davidic worship dance training session in the Comfort Inn meeting room from 2-4 p.m. More details about the dance training are available by calling (336) 294-6220.
“I’m looking forward to a good mix of brothers and sisters both from the Messianic community and the Gentile believers who are our brothers and sisters in Christ,” Rabbi Ric Worshill, president of the Messianic fellowship, told Baptist Press. “We’re going to have two wonderful speakers. Sam Nadler is going to be teaching apologetics from a Messianic standpoint, which is a way to build up the saints so that they can go out and share the Gospel.
“We’re also going to have Ed Stetzer from NAMB, and he’ll be speaking a lot about how NAMB and the Southern Baptist Messianic Fellowship can work together to start successful missions,” Worshill said. “He is an expert at starting successful missions and successful new works.”
The Southern Baptist Messianic Fellowship was created in 1990 by a group of Southern Baptist leaders seeking to reach out to Jewish people with the Good News of the Messiah from a biblically Judeo-Christian perspective.
“I’d like to invite anybody who’s interested in coming,” said Worshill, a 20-year police officer and administrating minister for Police Shomreem Ministries, a Judeo-Christian chaplaincy ministry to law enforcement officials.
