Prestonwood’s Jack Graham joins Baptist Press weekly lineup


NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Jack Graham, pastor of the 24,000-member Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, and immediate past president of the Southern Baptist Convention, joins the Baptist Press columnists’ lineup today, Sept. 6.

Graham’s weekly column will appear in BP on Tuesdays.

“Dr. Graham has contributed so much to Southern Baptists through his leadership as pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church and as president of the Southern Baptist Convention,” said Will Hall, executive editor of Baptist Press and vice president for news services with the Southern Baptist Convention’s Executive Committee. “Baptist Press is privileged to publish a weekly column by him and to offer our readers the opportunity to be blessed by his ministry.”

Graham, whose PowerPoint radio and TV ministry is broadcast nationwide, has authored six books, including his latest, “A Man of God: Essential Priorities for Every Man’s Life” (Crossway).

Graham served as SBC president from 2002-2004 and has served as pastor of Prestonwood since 1989.

Prior to coming to Prestonwood Graham served as pastor of East Side Baptist in Cross Plains, Texas (1970-71), First Baptist Church in Hobart, Okla. (1975-78), First Baptist Church in Duncan, Okla. (1978-81), and First Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, Fla. (1981-89). He served as associate pastorate of Sagamore Hill Baptist in Fort Worth, Texas, from 1972-75.

He is a two-time graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

He and his wife, Deb, have three children and one grandchild.
