NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Penna Dexter, a conservative activist and a longtime radio personality and professional, joins the Baptist Press columnists’ lineup today, Aug. 25.
In the future her column will appear on the third Thursday each month.
For eight years Dexter served as co-host of Marlin Maddoux’s Point of View syndicated radio program. She currently serves as a consultant for KMA Direct Communications in Plano, Texas, and as a producer for Washington Watch Weekly, a broadcast of the Family Research Council.
Dexter serves on the board of trustees for the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission. She served on the SBC’s Resolutions Committee in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
Dexter also formerly served as area representative for Concerned Women for America of Northeast Texas.
“Penna Dexter already projects a strong biblical worldview through the radio airwaves,” said Will Hall, executive editor of Baptist Press and vice president for news services with the Southern Baptist Convention’s Executive Committee. “I am excited about the voice she now adds to Baptist Press as a monthly columnist. It is an honor to offer our readers the opportunity to be informed and equipped by her Christian views on the topics of the day.”
Dexter’s interest in conservative causes began early, when she worked on political campaigns with her parents. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in international relations and spent eight years in the banking industry.
She and her husband, Todd, have three children.
