NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Registration for the 2004 Baptist Press Student Journalism Conference is underway, according to Will Hall, vice president for news services with the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee and executive editor of Baptist Press.
The conference, set for Oct. 7-9 in Nashville, Tenn., features special addresses by David Limbaugh, author of the NYT bestseller, Persecution; Bill Mattox of USA Today, James Patterson of The Indianapolis Star, Anacleto Rapping of The Los Angeles Times and Holly Thompson of WSMV-TV in Nashville.
The conference, in its fourth year at the SBC Building in downtown Nashville, will feature the theme “Pursue the Passion.”
Hall underscored the unique opportunity the conference provides for college journalists to experience the “blend we offer in skill-building workshops, spiritual encouragement, professional networking and Christian fellowship.”

The schedule includes general sessions — with special music by Christian artist Jason Ingram — as well as breakout sessions addressing specific topics. Additionally, the awards banquet will be held to recognize the top schools and individual students who entered the 2004 Excellence in Journalism Competition.
