NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–A novel about a dream journey to heaven and a study on the end times were among 11 books released in January by Broadman & Holman, the trade book division of LifeWay Christian Resources.
“Room of Marvels,” a novel by James Bryan Smith, is a story about a man whose daughter, mother and best friend have died within months of each other. In desperation, he seeks healing at a spiritual retreat where he prays himself to sleep and dreams about a journey to heaven. On the journey, he encounters departed acquaintances, distant relatives and personal heroes like C.S. Lewis. He is also reunited with his mother, daughter and best friend.
“Unveiling the End Times in Our Time” by Adrian Rogers is a study of the Book of Revelation. Rogers provides clear explanations of Revelation, from a pre-millennial and pre-tribulational point of view. A new Christian who knows little about Scripture should enjoy the book as should readers who are spiritually mature with some knowledge of Revelation.

–“Confessions of a Grieving Christian” by Zig Ziglar is an update and re-release. In the book, Ziglar recounts his grief after losing his oldest daughter, Susan, to a long illness. He uses the book to encourage and comfort readers who may be dealing with loss.

— “No Debt, No Sweat” by financial counselor Steve Diggs shows Christians how to free themselves from financial debt and how to better invest their money.
–“Running the Course” by Kristi Overton-Johnson, world record holder for women’s slalom water skiing since 1992, is a four-color, illustrated book that reveals the mind of a champion who relies on God to survive the demands of life.
Fiction:
–“Once Upon a Gulf Coast Summer” by Susan Oliver follows the complex relationship between Josephine Green and her grown daughter, Katy. Issues arise from Josephine’s troubled childhood. And Josephine and Katy work at their relationship as floods threaten their home one Gulf Coast summer.
— “Sunday Clothes” by Thom Lemmons is about a turn-of-the-20th-century woman, Addie Caswell, who falls in love with a Church of Christ traveling salesman to the chagrin of her disapproving Methodist father.
