Reccord, Rogers among speakers for Internet ‘Worldcast’ event

ORLANDO, Fla. (BP)–Two Southern Baptist leaders will be among a high-profile lineup of speakers during the Oct. 18-19 “Historic WorldCast Celebration,” an Internet broadcasting event designed to carry the gospel simultaneously to every sovereign nation in the world.

Robert E. Reccord, president of the North American Mission Board, and Adrian Rogers, pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church in suburban Memphis, Tenn., will be among 16 speakers representing a broad range of evangelical churches, denominations and parachurch groups.

Reccord will speak at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time Oct. 18 on “The Seven Most Important Words of Life,” while Rogers will speak at 8:50 p.m. the same evening on “The Biblical Ingredients of a Healthy Church Worldwide.” Presenting the closing message on Oct. 19 is Rob Glaser — founder and chairman of the streaming-video pioneer RealNetworks — who will communicate on “Technology and a Shrinking World.”

The Worldcast coincides with the Oct. 19 81st birthday of Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ. It will be broadcast from a hotel near Campus Crusade’s international headquarters in Orlando, Fla., although on-site attendance is limited to only 1,000 guests.

Bright’s message, titled “Grace for Every Race,” is scheduled for Oct. 19 at 10:25 a.m. EDT.

The event is sponsored by Global Pastors Network, an organization based at Campus Crusade’s headquarters offering teaching for pastors around the world via the Internet.
