Third Day, BeBo Norman among artists launching TruthQuest

FORT WORTH, Texas (BP)–Viewers watching the new Christian reality series “TruthQuest: California” will have an opportunity to hear some of the most popular groups in Christian music, including Jars of Clay, Third Day and Bebo Norman.

Music by artists on the Reunion Records and Essential Records labels has been provided by Provident Music Group to FamilyNet Television for the series.

The first two TruthQuest episodes feature Third Day’s songs “Have Mercy” and “Peach” from its album titled “Conspiracy No. 5” and Bebo Norman songs “Our Mystery” and “Great Light of the World” from his newest CD “Myself When I Am Real.” The opening for all 13 half-hour TruthQuest episodes will feature Daily Planet’s song “Flying Blind” from their CD “Hero.”

Bebo Norman, Tai Anderson of Third Day, Sarah Sadler and the Paul Colman Trio (pc3) also make guest appearances on TruthQuest: California. Norman, Anderson, Sadler and pc3 are all represented by the Essential Records label.

TruthQuest is Baptist Press’ and FamilyNet Television’s twist on reality TV and will differ from previous reality fare. Truth engaged culture as 12 Christian teenagers took a journey through Southern California to apply their faith in the real world.

For 18 days in July, the TruthQuesters wrote stories about and participated in cutting-edge ministry in California. Their stories appeared on Baptist Press’ www.bpnews.net website and their adventures were chronicled in 13 half-hour episodes by FamilyNet Television to air weekly beginning Oct. 3.

The TruthQuest: California team learned to surf with Christian surfers in San Diego, attended a church on the beach, rappelled with missionaries in Yosemite National Park and interacted with locals in the Haight-Ashbury District of San Francisco. As a study guide, participants used the TruthQuest Inductive Student Bible provided by Broadman & Holman Publishers of LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention.
