New book from Beth Moore tops B&H April releases


NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–Twelve books, including a Beth Moore release warning Christians to safeguard themselves against Satan’s seductions, are being released in April by Broadman & Holman. B&H is the trade publishing division of LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention.

General nonfiction:

When Godly People Do Ungodly Things by Beth Moore warns Christians that Satan is on the attack. Moore reveals how a person can know his or her vulnerability to these attacks. She also writes about authentic restoration with God through repentance of sins.

A Woman’s Garden of Prayer by Sarah Maddox and Patti Webb is a follow-up to A Mother’s Garden of Prayer. The authors use their own personal stories and experiences to guide other women through prayer for spiritual growth, relationships, emotions and many other facets of a woman’s life.

A Woman’s Garden of Prayer Journal also by Sarah Maddox and Patti Webb complements A Woman’s Garden of Prayer and allows writing space for thoughts and prayers, encouraging women to take time for daily devotionals.

Living Loud, the latest book in the TruthQuest line of products for youth, is written by Norman Geisler and Joseph Holden. This book teaches young people how to defend their faith against the onslaught of false teachings that saturate today’s culture and how to “live loud” their faith in Jesus Christ.

1001 Ways to Introduce Your Child to the Bible by Kathie Reimer is designed to motivate parents to be the ones who teach the Bible to their children. Each chapter of this book is dedicated to a particular book of the Bible and contains easy and creative ideas that make teaching God’s Word fun — for the parent and child.

The Worldwide Guide to Homeschooling by Brian Ray, president of the National Home Education Research Institute (NHERI), contains clear facts, statistics, general information and personal profiles of homeschoolers. The book is for parents who are considering homeschooling or anyone wanting to know more about it.

Successful Church Fund-Raising by John R. Bisagno, retired pastor from First Baptist Church, Houston, is written to equip a church of any size with strategies to conduct a full capital campaign.

Biblical Hermeneutics, Second Edition edited by Bruce Corley, Steve Lemke and Grant Lovejoy is a substantial revision of the 1996 edition of Biblical Hermeneutics. The material has been broadened for appeal to a wider audience interested in how the interpretive method of Scripture can be applied to a certain text.

A Modern Grammar for Classical Hebrew by Duane Garrett focuses on instruction for the minister who needs to learn Hebrew. The book gives an overview of the essentials of Hebrew grammar and then highlights the original text as students learn new material and review previously learned material. The book is geared toward the seminary classroom.

Fiction:

The Third Dragon: A Novel by Frank Simon follows the life of Air Force Major Don Stewart, who takes a position at the American Embassy in Tokyo. Don is assigned to investigate the murder of Jack Owens, an American who was killed in Japan. As Don gets closer to the truth, he races to save not only his family, but also the American ship John Paul Jones from an atomic bomb threat.

Children’s:

The LullaBible Series, including the books Baby’s First Book of Prayers, Baby’s First Book of Blessings, Baby’s First Book of Psalms and Baby’s First Book of Bible Stories, is a new book series for young children containing sorted Bible stories, prayers and blessings.

Bibles:
